Seiring dengan kemajuan teknologi, cara berkomunikasi pun ikut mengalami perubahan..
Jaman sekarang surat-menyurat tidak harus lewat kantor pos, kebanyakan orang lebih memilih menggunakan email..
selain karena lebih mudah.. pesan yg ingin kita sampaikan bisa lebih cepat sampai..
Selain email.. aplikasi chat lebih banyak dipilih.. seperti YM, ebuddy, facebook chat, BBM, MSN messenger, Google messenger, dsb..
Aplikasi chat biasa digunakan untuk ngobrol, ada yg menggunakan untuk koordinasi kerjaan,
untuk menanyakan kabar teman ataupun sekedar untuk bergossip .. 

Buat orang-orang yang baru mulai bergabung dan menggunakan aplikasi chating, ada beberapa singkatan dasar yang penting untuk diketahui..
